ReadMOre Welcomes Jane Smiley

Author at Webster University 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7 to discuss and sign A Thousand Acres

Jane SmileyKirkwood Public Library welcomes Jane Smiley to discuss her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel A Thousand Acres.

Cobbling together the story became a daunting task. In her own words, Smiley was wiped out every two pages. "I could hardly drag myself back to the typewriter, and normally there's nowhere else I'd rather be."

Smiley was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Webster Groves. As part of ReadMOre, she'll discuss her award-winning novel as well as the upcoming release of Moonflower Vine at Webster University’s Emerson Library, 101 Edgar Road at 7 p.m. April 7.

The session is free and open to the public. Call 246-7819 for more information.
