Ribbon Cutting and Speeches

Kirkwood Public Library will have its Grand Opening on Saturday August 14th beginning at 10 AM.  There will be a ribbon cutting by the Kirkwood / Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce.  Several prominent community figures will celebrate the completion of the new Kirkwood Public Library.  Join us as we cut the ribbon and stay to hear speeches by:

Randy Miltenberger - Former Board President and Building Committee Chair

Art McDonell - Mayor

Margaret Conroy - State Librarian

The Friends of the Kirkwood Public Library new boutique - Books and Beyond - will also have a ribbon cutting.

Join your community in celebrating the new renovation of our library.

Game On!
That is right!  The game is on!  Mario Kart specifically.  Want to prove you are a player?  Want to show off how fast you can race around the digital track? Sign up using our Survey Monkey Survey and be a part of the first ever Kirkwood Public Library Mario Kart Tournament.  The library will allow patrons of all ages to compete in a video game exhibition for the chance to win a gift card to Barnes and Noble.  We have a big screen T.V. Wii and all the proper steering wheels and controllers for some 1 on 1 on 1 on 1 Mario Kart action.  Be a part of the tournament: sign up using the library's survey.  Prove you can best Toad! Go ahead and rock Bowser.  Mario Kart and victory awaits.

Presenting Music by: Steve Schenkel & Ashley Mason
And the Kirkwood Children's Chorale

Steve Schenkel and Ashley Mason will perform for the library during our grand opening.  Experience the musical talents of this duo as they provide the melody of our celebration.

The Kirkwood Children's Chorale will be performing in the Children's area.

See the New Patron Designed Cards
Come see the finalists in the library card design contest.  We were very pleased with the plethora of submissions recieved by both our children and our teen patrons.  The six finalists have been chosen and their designs are ready to be unveiled to the public.  Have a first peak at the winning designs.
